Join us at Spirit of Christ at 11:00 each Sunday morning! We worship using Lutheran liturgy and hymns, both traditional and contemporary. Our service offers opportunities week after week to sing God's praises, confess and be forgiven, pray individually and as a congregation, hear the Word of God, learn from the pastor's teachings, affirm our faith, and be blessed into the week ahead. We also celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday and ALL people are welcome at Christ's table. We hope to see you soon!
The Spirit of Christ Choir
At this time, our choir is not rehearsing and singing in church due to COVID. We will announce once we begin again for those who would like to join.
We are thrilled to welcome Steve Mollick as our new music director! We are enjoying his musical leadership on Sunday mornings and are looking forward to his direction of our choir once the choir is able to rehearse again.
Music and Liturgy
We celebrate a variety of musical styles with a blended worship of traditional and modern elements. Our choir director and organist, Steve Stucki, leads us in music from the piano and organ. The worship feel is casual, often interactive, and relevant to everyday life. We are fed and inspired to do God's work in the world in word, love and service.
Much of the words we say (our liturgy) and the hymns we sing in worship come from the book of Evangelical Lutheran Worship (the ELW), a hymnal used by many Lutheran churches. Our worship also follows an order common to many churches, described eloquently on the ELCA National Website:
"There is also a basic pattern for worship among Lutherans. We gather. We encounter God’s word. We share a meal at the Lord’s table. And we are sent into the world. But we do not think about worship so much in terms of what we do. Worship is fundamentally about what God is doing and our response to God’s action. Worship is an encounter with God, who saves us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ."
